Why are some men workaholics? What is it that drives them to work so hard?

I can understand ambition. But, are there some insecure men who just want to prove to the world that they are good? What are the possible reasons for a man to work like there is no tomorrow.

    a lot of them men are either:
    Committed to their jobs
    Ambitious
    Have a wife that doesn’t/won’t work
    Has a family to support (2+ kids)
    Has ex-wife (and kids) and a new wife
    Ones that can’t get laid
    Are hoping to hell, that if they work hard, they won’t get made redundant

    they may be trying to escape from other things in their Personal life, they might just like working… and there are plenty of women out there that work 25 hours a day, 8 days a week too
