How can you study less and still get good grades?

Dia asked:
I am a total workaholic. Sometimes I spend my entire weekend doing homework. I have difficult classes, so it should not be surprising. However, I feel that I am putting too much time and effort into studying, doing homework, etc. to keep my good grades. I know many people who put way less effort into things and still get the same high grade. I worry very much about my grades because they are important to me, and I don`t want to slip. I just want to have more free time and less stress about all the homework. What`s the secret?

do HW at school so you’ll have less to do at home (if you have the time the next day at school, do rest of hw then), put all work from your classes in dividers when you are done with that lesson in your class (this will help a lot when exams come), be organized with your work, sit in bed and study, take a few breaks, eat snacks….and breathe!

There really is no secret. When you are in your classes, take notes even if the teacher doesn’t say to. This will help a lot. When you write things down, you tend to remember it better. Also, if you have a textbook and are assigned a certain chapter, read and look for words that might be important, write them down in a list or checklist and in class if that word or concept is gone over, check it off, this will help by letting you know exactly what to study. All you can really do is work on things more in class. I also have difficult classes, and these are some of the things I do to help me have more time on my hands.
