Future Workaholic?

Bodie asked:

I’m worried about becoming a workaholic. I’m still in school, but it’s bugging me. I find pleasure only in doing homework and, well, working. Now that it’s summer, I’m killing myself because I have no homework to do. My schedual is usually packed ,and now that it’s not I feel so unaccomplished. I’m a perfectionist too, so that just makes everything worse. I feel I have to succeed at everything; if I don’t , I would feel like I’m letting myself down. I love my friends and family, but I’m always making excuses not to spend time with them. When I am with my friends, all I can think about is that assignment that’s due next week or a subject I’m not doing well in. No matter what I do I can’t get these thoughts away from my mind. Excercising works well until I stop. I feel like I can’t talk to anyone about this. My friends don’t take me seriously when I bring it up. Am I just paranoid? What can I do?

On vacation next week from work and my boss demanded that I do not call the office at all while off, why?

I have to take next week off because I have carry-over vacation time from last year and I have to use it or lose it. My boss told me that when I leave on Friday that he doesn’t want to hear from me until I am due back. I will have NOTHING to do for a week and I am going to feel useless. Is this the first sign of becoming a workaholic?

Workaholic VS sexaholic?

smile asked:

My fiance is pretty well off. He can really take care of me financial-wise. But he is such a workaholic, so he’s always too tired for sex, I feel like I am only second place. My Ex is the opposite. He always had energy, we had so much fun. But he had no ambition, so I broke up with him. I think I love him more than my fiance. And he says he still loves me and wants me back. If money wasn’t an issue, I would definitely pick my ex. But I don’t wanna end up swimming in debt, cuz I still have to pay my student loans…Help please?
and yah, i have a job. I’m actually an RN. but student loans are catching up and i’m no spring chicken anymore. So yah.

A real dad/father in term of relating and caring for the child, both physically and emotionally, not just a “baby daddy” or “sperm donor”.
And why do you think so?

How do you convince a workaholic to take a day off?

pmuzzy58 asked:

My husband hasn’t missed a day of work in over 18 months. We have a major snowstorm in NE Ohio and I asked him not to go into work because of the unsafe roads. He still insisted on going into work. He hasn’t taken a personal day or vacation day since September 2008. How can I convince him that he needs some personal time off of work. He is in mid-management and is a chemist. I’m concerned about him. Please help.

My dad is a workaholic?

guitarbabe asked:

My dad is a workaholic. I know his work is important, but sometimes I wish he would talk about SOMETHING else. At dinner all he talks about is work. Even when we’re eating out or we’re on a vacation, he always has his blackberry by his side. What I hate the most is when he picks me up from school, he is on his blackberry until the moment we get home and he doesnt even talk to me at all. Whenever I try to talk to him about this, he says, “Well, I buy you everything you want.” He seems to think that buying me stuff and providing for his family is the most important thing, but we all wish he would just spend some time with us and NOT talk about work!

How can I get him to understand that I just want to spend some time with him without talking about his work because he doesn’t seem to listen when I TRY to talk to him about it…?
